Stentoft Recognized With Spirit Of Montana Commendation

Congressman Greg Gianforte recently recognized Melinda Stentoft of Scobey with his Spirit of Montana commendation for providing eastern Montana’s health care providers with personal protective equipment during the COVID-19 outbreak.

The owner of Maa Maa’s Boutique in Scobey, Stentoft is thankful for her customers’ online support with her business closed amid the coronavirus shutdown. Seeing the impact of the outbreak, she decided to give back: for every five cloth masks she sells, she donates two to help eastern Montana’s health care providers. As a result, she has sent hundreds of masks to protect health care workers.

“This unprecedented time has reminded Melinda of her childhood when, she says, people were so close, and the sense of a tight-knit community came back because of the outbreak. Instead of rushing all the time, Melinda feels people are taking more time to talk to each other, and she loves how people have found their own way to help,” stated Gianforte.

Gianforte’s Spirit of Montana is a weekly recognition of Montanans for their accomplishments, dedication, or service. Gianforte highlights the recipient in the U.S. House of Representatives and personally contacts the honorees.

Gianforte encourages anyone to nominate Montanans for the Spirit of Montana award by contacting his office at 202-225-3211 or by email at https://gianforte.house.gov/ contact/email.
