State High School Association Decision On Spring Seasons Could Come This Week

A decision could come this week on whether or not there will be late, shortened high school spring sports seasons.

Spring seasons have been in limbo since mid-March when the Montana High School Association postponed the start of spring prep athletics until further notice due to concerns after the first four positive results of testing in Montana for COVID-19.

MHSA also halted all state basketball tournaments that were in progress.

The Helena-headquartered MHSA will revisit the fate of spring seasons with the MHSA executive board meeting by conference call to review the decision Thursday, April 9, four days earlier than the originally stated review date of April 13.

The MHSA has stated that is has been in contact with state and federal public health agencies.
