Poplar Wins Boys’ And Girls’ Games Over Frazer

The Poplar Indians defeated the Frazer Bearcubs in boys’ and girls’ non-conference games played in Moccasins Square Garden Thursday, Jan. 31.

The Indians defeated the Bearcubs 75-58. The Poplar girls won 63-33.

In a Class 2B conference games, Glasgow won both varsity games Friday, Jan. 31. The Indians fell 75-58 and the Lady Scotties won 54-40.

“We split the weekend,” Lady Indians head coach Wes Bighorn said.

“We’re finally getting a full squad back from injuries. Holly [Colgan] is getting back to game shape and Sasha [Youngman] is finally up to game minutes again,” he said.

“We’re moving the ball well and our defensive rotations are being understood. We have one game this Friday on the road to Fairview, which has a two-game win streak going. It’s always a tough place to play but we’re ready for the final push before districts,” Bighorn said.

The District 2B tournament will be held in Malta Thursday and Friday, Feb. 20 and 21. The Northern B boys’ divisional tournament will be in Malta Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 27-29. The girls’ divisional will be played in Shelby Thursday through Saturday, March 5-7. The Class B State Tournament will be in Butte Thursday through Saturday, March 12-14.
