Hearings Take Place In District Court

One individual was sentenced and another admitted to not complying with his probation requirements during recent District Court hearings in Wolf Point.

Joshua Kyle Burks was sentenced for the felony charges of criminal possession of dangerous drugs and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.

Based on a plea agreement, Judge David Cybulski sentenced Burks on the first charge to a five-year commitment to the Montana Department of Corrections with none of the time suspended.

On the second charge, Burks received a five-year sentence to run concurrently with the first charge. He wasn’t fined for the offenses.

Kai Irwin Leigh Underdahl admitted to violating the terms of his four-year deferred sentence on May 15 by not abstaining from using alcohol or drugs.

The deferred imposition of sentence was revoked and an identical four-year deferred was reimposed with the same conditions. He was given time credit of 1,009 days.

Underdahl was sentenced on July 14, 2021, for two counts of criminal endangerment. The charges pertained to an incident involving Underdahl chasing another vehicle and shooting gunshots on U.S. Highway 2 west of Culbertson
