Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriffs Office responded to 59 calls from May 6-12. Highlights include:

May 6

A break-in was reported at 6:35 a.m. at Eddy Bauer Sales in Wolf Point. A door had been damaged and power tools were stolen. A suspect was identified on video security footage and the report forwarded to the Fort Peck Tribal Prosecutor’s office requesting a warrant for theft and burglary.

May 7

At 4 p.m., deputies responded to Broadway Avenue in Culbertson to the grocery store who reported that an intoxicated male was causing a disturbance, blocking the doorway and yelling which was scaring the customers. The man left the area before deputies arrived.

May 8

Deputies assisted the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice at 5:17 p.m. at a disturbance on the 400 block of D Street East in Poplar. A male was trying to kick in the door of a residence. The man was identified, but not located that evening. The FPTDLJ are handling the complaint.

May 9

A deputy assisted the Culbertson ambulance with a medical call in Fort Kipp. The deputy helped load the male needing medical attention.

May 11

A deputy took a report of abuse at Frostees in Poplar at 2:52 p.m. The report will be forwarded to Fort Peck Tribal Court.

At 3:31 p.m., a woman with blood on her arms who was saying she’d stabbed someone was reported walking eastbound on U.S. Highway 2 towards Town Pump from the Pumpkin Hill area of Wolf Point. A deputy and FPTDLJ officers located the woman on the 100 block of Third Avenue South. She was extremely high on an unknown intoxicant and had multiple self-inflicted lacerations, but did not need medical attention.

A man in Bainville reported that his vehicle had been struck while parked outside his residence by a female, which then led to a fight between the two on the lawn. A deputy and the Bainville ambulance responded, but no injuries required transport. The deputy arrested an adult female, Samantha Brunink, 40, of Williston, N.D., on charges of resisting arrest, partner/family member assault, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and careless driving. She is being held on $10,000 bond.

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report activity statistics for the past week were: Wolf Point city limits, 11; Poplar city limits, two; Poplar rural, three; Poplar FPHA all other, one; Culbertson town, 14; Culbertson rural, five; Bainville town, seven; Bainville rural, six; Froid town, one; Williams County, one; Brockton town, one; Brockton rural, one; Fort Kipp, six; total, 59.
