Through a National Elks Foundation grant, Wolf Point Elks Lodge #1764 has been able to provide support to a much needed operation in Wolf Point.

The Elks have donated $2,000 to the Beauchamp Kitchen. The facility provides food to people in need of a meal from 4 to 5 p.m. on weekdays.

Julie D’Ambrosio, secretary of the Wolf Point Elks Lodge, said the donation included food, dry goods and an industrial can opener.

She felt the Beauchamp Kitchen was a worthy recipient of a Spotlight Grant from the Elks. These $2,000 grants are available to every lodge to shine a light on pressing issues facing American communities, including COVID-19 relief which continues to be a significant need due to the ongoing pandemic.

“It usually has to do with food pantries or food banks,” D’Ambrosio explained.

Melissa Beauchamp said the kitchen usually feeds 80 individuals per night. The number increases to about 100 near the end of the month.

Harry and Melissa Beauchamp have ran the kitchen since 2017.
