The community had an opportunity to enjoy the Basketball Showcase at Lustre Christian High School this last week, which ends the basketball camp season for kindergarten through grade seven. The camps were successful thanks to camp director Brooke Holzrichter, Kimberly Klatt and a group of volunteer high school basketball players, as well as cooperation from parents. They showcased each age group in their skills and played scrimmages involving kids up to third grade.

The evening began with a pizza meal fundraiser and ended with awards. Most improved awards went to Joseph Olfert and Harlo Reddig, who will each receive a basketball. Sportsmanship awards were won by Drew Reddig and Tessa Olfert; each will receive water bottles. The basketball hustler titles went to Micah Zerbe and Piper Neufeld; each will receive shirts. Most valuable player among the girls went to Aubrey Klatt and most valuable player among the boys went to Holden Olfert. These awardees had to have all the qualities of sportsmen, and ball-handling. They were awarded new backpacks. All the participants received shirts and prizes for all their hard work.
