The open house at the Great Northern Development Corp. was well attended on Friday, Nov. 19.

The event was a way for officials to showcase the facility’s new meeting room and area’s small businesses.

Tori Matejovsky, executive director, said the meeting room has been used a lot this fall especially for baby and bridal showers.

The large conference room provides comfortable seating for up to 50 individuals. Rental cost is $200 for a full day or $110 for a half day.

The smaller conference room sits up to 20 people. Rental cost is $90 for a full day or $40 for a half day.

Great Northern Development holds many events such as workshops and conferences throughout the year. Especially with social distancing concerns, additional space was desired for meetings. Previously, the space was a poorly heated garage type area.

The open house featured several area vendors including Janice Bowman catering the food. In addition, Forty- One Grains of Circle provided the dessert. Missouri Breaks Brewing/ Doc Z Pub offered two different types of beer. Tongue River Winery of Miles City provided wine.

Moonlight Laserworks of Scobey provided swag to participants.

Programs offered from the Great Northern Development Corp. include loans and financing, small business, Native American, housing, EPA brownfields and food and agriculture.
