Lady Wolves Drop Final Volleyball Match Against Conrad
Wolf Point’s volleyball season came to an end with a loss against Conrad during the divisional tournament in Glasgow on Friday, Nov. 5.
Conrad won by a 25-23, 2225, 25-20, 25-23, final.
After falling behind early in the first game, the Wolves closed the margin to 14-10 on three kills by Sierra Hamilton and a kill by J’Elle Garfield.
The strong net play of Garfield kept the Wolves close at 20-16. Kills by Garfield and Hamilton led the Wolves to a 22-20 game.
Conrad then gained a 24-20 lead, but the Wolves cut the margin to 24-23 on a pair of blocks by Hamilton. Conrad, however, won by a 25-23 final margin in the first set.
The Wolves trailed by a 1711 margin in the second set, but the Wolves came back on a kill by Hamilton, a backrow kill by Garfield, an ace by Hamilton and a kill by Adeia Erickson to make it an 18-17 game.
After Conrad moved ahead 21-18, the Wolves ran off the next five points on three kills by Garfield, a serve by Katelyn MacDonald and a kill by Hamilton.
Ahead 23-22, the Wolves ended the second set on a kill by Hamilton and an ace by Garfield.
In the third set, the Wolves battled back to 21-20 on a kill by Garfield and a save by Hamyanie Campbell.
Conrad then tallied the final four points of the third set.
Wolf Point used kills by Jaylee Azure and Hamilton to close Conrad’s lead to 13-11 in the fourth set.
Conrad took a 19-15 advantage, but the Wolves fought to 22-20 on two kills by Erickson and a kill by Garfield. A hit by MacDonald, a block by Hamilton and an ace by McDonald got the Wolves as close as 24-23 before Conrad accounted for the match’s final point.
