A trio of Culbertson High School students presented a scholarship donation to local family members of Caleb Fell, Bryan Pederson and Joseph Hanson on Aug. 17.

A scholarship fund has been established in their memories.

Current students Mo Bighorn, Justice Bengochea and Ethan Pirkle, read the following text allowed in a quiet ceremony in teacher Mary Machart’s classroom: “Two years ago today, we were shocked and deeply hurt as the events of the day became known and our hearts were with your families. Over six years ago this year, we were in shock as phones were ringing to find the truth about an accident. Caleb, Joe and Bryan may have left us, but they will never be forgotten. This year the Color Run held such a special meaning as so many gathered (on an overcast day!) to show their love and support. Our community joins you in missing them. No word or gift can ease your pain, but we hope that knowing your boys are loved and missed by so many will at least bring a smile every now and then.”

The boys presented a $5,000 check for the Scholarship Fund in Memory of Caleb Fell, Bryan Pederson and Joseph Hanson to the families. Rachel Perleberg Spacht told the Community News that the three mothers will present $500 scholarships at CHS graduation, details TBA. A scholarship fund has been set up at First Community Bank.
