“They like to see you support them,” Wilson said. “You’re vested in the school.”

He feels that Wolf Point’s teachers play a key role in making sure a quality education experience is available. “I have nothing but respect for the others teachers,” Wilson said.

During his time in Wolf Point, he has encountered some phenomenal students that carried high grade point averages. “A lot of it is the kids stepping up and doing what they have to,” Wilson said.

One of the best things that educators see is when students who struggled as freshmen or sophomores become much better students as juniors and seniors.

“The kids grow up a little bit, and they realize they can’t just depend on teachers,” Wilson said. “It’s up to them. They earn their grades.”

He adds that he will miss the school and the good friendships that he has made. He’s thankful for different individuals that he has coached with in Wolf Point.

Wilson said this year’s graduating class with includes his son, Austin, has a special place in his heart. “My own son is in this group. I know these kids well,” he said.

But he admits most of the students are pretty special at the school.

“The kids are pretty awesome here,” Wilson said. “Most of them want to be educated and to do well.”
