Daniels County Library Notes
Rites of the Starling is number two in the Shield of Sparrows Series. Our readers will find this to be an incredibly well written book. The little details that are pieced together will have you gasping out loud.
Odessa (from book one) has grown with confidence and compassion. And her “significant other,” Ransom is just as protective as before. This story line has a lively pace, and with the multiple points of view, the reader will feel part of this story from the get go.
Fantasy monsters, small children and a love story are all part of this tale, oh, and there’s a queen with red blood? That’s odd, because most have green blood! Bet you can’t wait to solve that mystery.
The Thoroughbreds by Elin Hilderbrand is number two in the Academy Series. This is a contemporary romance that takes place at the start of another school year. There is a new counselor on staff, and there is some doubt if he is up to the task.
There are new faces this year, with Pippa, who may be competing to be the new bombshell! The seniors this year are full of secrets and fun times. What with the football games, college applications, and gossip, anything is possible, right?
This book may be one of those guilty pleasures that we all want to read, but we don’t tell anyone about it! Just fun and fluff, with a little dark backstory to keep our feet on the ground!
