Did You Know?
The Anxiety & Depression Association of America reports that nearly one in 10 men experience depression or anxiety. Despite that prevalence, less than half of those men receive treatment, a troubling reality that the ADAA suggests is because of stigma, cultural expectations and/or the belief that seeking help is a sign of weakness. Lack of treatment for mental health issues like depression and anxiety has a troubling ripple effect, as men account for nearly 80 percent of all suicide deaths, and three in five of those men had no documented mental health condition at the time of their deaths.
