Bainville Sweeps Brockton In Three Sets

The Bainville Lady Bulldogs set the tone at the serving line Friday, Sept. 25, sweeping the Brockton Warriors 25-4, 25-8 and 25-14 at Brockton High School.

Bainville opened with its most decisive set of the night, holding Brockton to four points. The Lady Bulldogs kept the pressure on in the second set before the Warriors put together their strongest showing in the third. Brockton scored more points in each successive set, but Bainville closed out the match in three.

Casey Myers led Bainville with nine aces and five kills. Annalyce Sorenson added six aces, while Jaylynn Bjorge and Emmalyn Anderson recorded five aces each. Together, the four players accounted for 25 aces.

Jodi Albus contributed four kills, and Sophie Portra had 13 assists for the Lady Bulldogs, who are coached by Kallie Clarke.

The Warriors continued to compete as the match went on, reaching 14 points in the final set. Bainville’s strong serving and balanced contributions, however, carried the Lady Bulldogs to the road victory.

Bainville will play at home against MonDak on Thursday, Oct. 1, and compete at the Richey/Lambert tournament on Saturday, Oct. 3.
