Fury in Death, by JD Robb is number 63 of the In Death series. Detective Eve Dallas is still on the job, and this time the victim is so brutalized that she questions if there is more than one assailant. Larry Chu was a rich biotech executive, before they found him in his home office!
Dallas is sure this must be personal, due to the rage expended at the crime scene. She digs deeper into his background, and well, things aren’t always as they seem. Rich and politically connected, corrupt judges at the highest levels, who isn’t in on this murder?
Dalla, Roarke, Peabody and their colleagues join forces to get to the bottom of this. Chu was found in a locked room, no one in or out, so the mystery deepens. Will there be justice for the victim, or the perpetrator?
Frost and Venom, by Christine Feehan is number four in the Sunrise Lake Series. This mystery/ thriller takes place in small town, Sunrise Lake, near Yosemite National Park. Harlow Frye is a trauma nurse, and as the bodies begin to add up, she suspects a serial killer is responsible.
But, with threats being made against her, she must rely on her long-time friends, that she trusts more than her own family! Meanwhile, Hawkin Wilder returns to town, looking for his old friend Harlow. He allows no one but her to treat his injuries, now why would that be?
Did I mention that Harlow is the daughter of a senator who happens to be facing some very serious accusations? Oh, and the poison, now things will get really serious!
Library hours are Monday- Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Story Hour will be Monday at 3 p.m. and Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. for ages 3-5 years old. Stories, songs and crafts!
Book Club is reading All the Colors of the Dark,
by Chris Whitaker. This historical fiction thriller takes place in 1975 in Missouri. This is a story about trauma and obsession, with a love story thrown in! Patch Macauley is a local boy, who was born with only one eye. This becomes his symbol of resilience. An act of bravery sets in motion a chain of events that affects all of those around him.
His journey is a testament to his strong spirit, but he struggles with the shadows of obsession and the hope of a connection. The author delves into the ripple effects of trauma and the different ways people use to cope with fear and loss. You won’t want to put this book down.

Book Worm Buddies will meet Sept. 16, from 4-5:30 p.m. at the library. There is a speaker this session. You won’t want to miss this. It’s for grades K-sixth.
Cooking Club starts on Sept. 17. There are three open spots, so sign up soon. The club meets at the library at 4-5:30 p.m.
Little Sprouts will meet Saturday, Sept. 19, at 9–9:30 a.m. It’s for ages 0-3 years old. There will be Songs, books and fun.
