Red Hawks Sweep Cowgirls During Match
The Froid/Lake Red Hawks protected their home court on Thursday, Sept. 10, defeating the Culbertson Cowgirls in three competitive sets.
The Red Hawks completed the sweep with victories of 25-21, 25-20 and 25-21. Culbertson stayed close throughout the match, but Froid/ Lake held off the Cowgirls down the stretch in each set.
Isabelle Nordwick led the Red Hawks’ attack with 12 kills. Joelle Davidson recorded four blocks and shared the team lead in digs with Keira Stentoff at 12 apiece. Laytyn Davidson distributed 11 assists, while Atley Jensen served four aces.
Emma Berwick gave a strong all-around performance for Culbertson, leading the Cowgirls with 15 digs, six kills and five blocks. She also contributed three assists and two aces.
Charity Wilbanks added 14 digs, five kills, four aces, two assists and two blocks. Kailia Featherston collected 13 digs and three kills, while Bella Petersen finished with nine digs, four kills, 18 assists and one ace.
Stella Fox also handed out 18 assists while adding seven digs and one ace. Payton Labatte recorded seven digs, one kill and one assist. Aeryn Ator contributed two kills, while Ella Anderson added two digs and two aces. Ally Simonson finished with two digs.
As a team, Culbertson recorded 69 digs, 21 kills, 11 aces, 42 assists and seven blocks.
Although the Red Hawks secured the sweep, all three sets were decided by five points or fewer, reflecting a determined effort from both teams.
