Lady Wolves Look To Move Up In League Standings
With a good amount of playing experience returning to the program, Wolf Point first-year volleyball coach Jaki Harada is looking forward to a good year for the Wolves.
“We have lots of talent and athleticism among this group of girls so we plan to use that to our advantage and place the girls in positions that we feel best fits our team,” Harada said. “We’ve seen the girls be supportive toward each other at practice so that’s been amazing to see.”
Harada noted that there are no seniors on the Wolves’ team, but it’s a good group of juniors and sophomores.
Among the players back with varsity experience are Ma’Kenzie Jackson, Adalynn Smith, Maia Kent, McKenzie Rodenberg, McKinlee Paulson, Annaleigh Matejovsky, Butterfly Lindsay, Anna Matejovsky, Afton Hanks, Sophia Ricker and Cali Gorder.
“We want to have a fresh start this season so I think the biggest thing I’ve been asking of the girls is to have the ability to adapt to change on and off the court,” Harada said. “We want to improve in all aspects so we are looking forward to doing that this year.”
The coach says goals for the program include building it back up so Wolf Point has three full teams and advances to the divisional tournament this year.
“We are just excited to see what the teams in our district have to offer this season and want them to know that the Lady Wolves will be a force to be reckoned with,” Harada said.
