Poplar Fields Solid Squad For Cross Country Season
With a solid core of returning athletes, Poplar High School’s cross country team should contend for honors at meets again this season.
Issac Irizarry is the top returning runner in the boys’ division. Jayden Eder also is back after finishing well at last year’s meets.
Other solid returners for the boys include Dustin Smith, Mickey Failing and Ryder Olson.
For the girls’ team, top returning runners include Mila Gramling and Kellyn Azure.
Coach John Wetsit is also looking for strong seasons from Liberty Boadle, Kelbee Redstone, Amelia Weeks and Harley Daniels.
“I’m looking to keep improving throughout the year,” Wetsit said during a recent practice. “I think we have a solid team.”
