Wolf Point School District Has Few Openings
With the start of the school year nearing, the Wolf Point School District is still looking to fill some openings.
The list includes paraprofessionals, junior high math, an agriculture teacher and a school secretary at Northside Elementary School.
The school district would also like to hire an assistant principal for the high school and junior high school and a school resource o er. “There’s a possibility with the Wolf Point Police Department right now,” Wolf Point Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Perkins said of the SRO position. “Overall, we’re not in bad shape.”
Perkins, however, is concerned that the state is making stricter requirements for emergency authorized educators.
“It makes no sense. It will impact us with several teachers,” Perkins said. “I’m going to make some noise about it with the state.”
Building projects completed during the summer included doors in the back of the high school gym, the administration o e’s roof, the high school track, tennis courts and the front of Northside School.
Perkins says the purchase has been completed for the house located at 500 Dawson St. Cost was $175,000.
The school district is also moving forward with purchasing a duplex kitty-corner from the administration o e.
The school district will charge teachers rent to sustain the buildings.
“That will be enough for now,” Perkins said of acquiring houses for sta housing.
