Turns Around Powwow Coming This Weekend
The 19th annual Turns Around Celebration is set for Aug. 14-16 in Poplar. Camping day is Aug. 13. Patrick Ricker will be announcer.
This year’s powwow is being held in honor of Sharon Red Thunder. Head man dancer is Ronald Fast Horse. Amanda Fast Horse is head woman. Georgia Good Bird is the celebration princess, with Piper St. Germaine serving as princess attendant, Ivy White Bull as junior princess, Delilah Feather as junior princess attendant, Miley Crawford as senior traveling princess and Urijah Kay Yellow Hammer as junior traveling princess.
Grand entries and specials start Friday at 7 p.m.; Saturday at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. A parade is set for Saturday, with participants lining up at 10 a.m. at the American Legion Park for an 11 a.m. start.
