Sun Bus Coming To Daniels County On Aug. 13-14
Daniels County residents are reminded that the Daniels County Cancer Coalition is bringing the Sun Bus to the area on Thursday, Aug. 13, and Friday, Aug. 14. Location is outside the Smoke Creek Inn, 51 Highway 13.
“It’s a skin cancer service,” said LeeAnn Danielson, a member of the cancer coalition.
Last year, the Sun Bus attracted 134 individuals. For this year, all the spots are already filled.
“Last year was our first year,” Danielson said.
The program features a mobile dermatology bus from Colorado for sun safety education and facial skin imaging.
Dermatology provider Catherine Luz will perform free skin screenings. Free EltaMD sunscreen and Heliocare samples will be provided.
Tickets are being sold at Wolfe Daniels or Banjo’s to help pay for the service.
Danielson reminds the public that the Daniels County Cancer Coalition will hold its annual Boo-Bingo during October. Funds raised will assist community members with expenses associated with cancer treatment or screenings.
