Culbertson School Board Approves Advisors, Drivers
The Culbertson School Board met in regular session on Tuesday, July 21, at 6:30 p.m. Trustees present included chair Chris Petersen, Amber Fox, Chris Newbill (via phone), Lisa Steppler and Verlin Steppler. Representatives were Nicole Simonsen, Dave Solem and Lora Finnicum.
The Culbertson Booster Club was recognized for its donation of $7,100 to pay for volleyball poles, a football sled and track/cross country uniforms.
Extracurricular contracts were o_ered to Ti_any Nielsen for 11th grade advisor, Kody Featherston for FFA advisor (with concessions) and assistant high school girls’ basketball coach and Robert Kjelshus for assistant speech and drama Coach.
The cost of the proposed bus route changes was discussed, with the matter tabled for special meeting.
The guest teacher list was approved as presented.
Activity bus drivers David Solem, Cassidy Obergfell, Kevin Becker, Shawn Sansaver, Robert Kjelshus, Duane Larsen and Mike Olson were approved.
A motion was passed to approve bus monitors Diane Hampton, Joy Johnson, La-Vonne Scotson and Matthew Ellerton.
Wendy Nickolo_ was approved as a mentor for Heather Harrison for 2026-27 and Dave Solem was renewed as activities director.
Out-of-district attendance applications were approved as presented, as was the 2026-27 class schedule.
Trustees discussed increased expenses in the athletic account with recommendations for assessing activity participation fees. A motion was passed to assess $50 participation fee per sport with a $100 per family maximum.
The uniform rotation schedule was approved.
The next regular meeting is set for Aug. 18 at 6:30 p.m.
