Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 108 calls from June 15-22.
The calls included the following: June 15
Dispatch notified deputies that a person in Poplar requested a welfare check for a family member. The deputy made contact with an adult female on a cellphone. She said she was fine.
Shortly before midnight, a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Poplar. The female driver displayed signs of impairment. The Montana Highway Patrol assisted on the scene. The driver failed sobriety tests. Sariah Red Eagle, 33, was charged in tribal court with aggravated driving under the influence and not having vehicle insurance.
June 16
Deputies responded to Riverside tribal housing between Poplar and Brockton on a report by an adult male that he feels his girlfriend stole his Social Security check. Law enforcement provided him a ride to Poplar.
June 17
Deputies responded to Tribal Express in Poplar for a report of a SUV being driven away from a fuel pump and ripping the pump’s hose off. Deputies stopped an adult female that appeared to be impaired. After sobriety tests, she was taken into custody for a blood draw at the Poplar hospital. She refused the test. She was charged with not having a drivers license, reckless driving and refusing tests. She was taken to the tribal detention center.
June 18
Deputies and the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice responded to Brockton for a report of a juvenile female causing a disturbance. The reporting party, the girl’s mother, said a younger sister struck an older sister. The juvenile was charged with partner/family member assault and transported to the juvenile detention center in Poplar.
June 20
Deputies responded to the Frontier addition area near Wolf Point where the reporting party asked deputies to perform a welfare check on a relative. After contacting her, the female was fine. She requested to have her grandfather pick her up.
June 21
Deputies and the Montana Highway Patrol responded to County Road 327 near Bainville for a vehicle crash. The North Dakota vehicle was upside down with its lights on near the railroad tracks. One person was transported to the hospital.
June 22
During a security check in Culbertson, a deputy found an open door at a business. The deputy secured the door.
