Stampede Talent Show Moves Forward

Area individuals have stepped up to take part in the Wolf Point Stampede Talent Contest scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7.

Clyta Dillon, one of the event’s organizers, said eight entries along with two “entertainment only” selections have registered for the event to be held at the Burkie Field. In case of poor weather, the show will be moved to the Elks Lodge.

Dillon said the eight entries include singers, guitar players and dancers.

“I’m happy with the amount of people signed up,” Dillon said. “I’m happy with the contributions. We met our goal and are delighted.”

There will be $2,000 in cash prizes awarded.

She noted that more judges are needed. If interested, contact Dillon at dillon8v@gmail.com or 406-3991575.

The “entertainment only” part will include the singing talents of David Perkins, the superintendent of the Wolf Point School District.

“Dr. Perkins sings opera quality songs,” Dillon explained. “He’s going to sing a song for us.”

Also providing entertainment will be Dillon and her husband, Mark Berry.

The Yellowjacket baseball team will provide concessions including hamburgers, hot dogs and soft drinks.

There is no charge for admission for the event which will kick off the Stampede week.
