Poplar Man Dies In Fatality Crash
A 62-year-old Poplar man died in a one-vehicle crash during the early morning hours of Saturday, June 6.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 12:27 a.m. on U.S. Highway 2, mile marker 593 near Wolf Point.
The two passengers in the vehicle, a 55-year-old male and a 44-year-old female, suffered serious injuries and were transported for medical treatment.
MHP reports that the Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling east on Highway 2 when the driver lost control and exited the roadway to the right. After leaving the roadway, the vehicle overturned and ejected the driver and a passenger. Another passenger was trapped in the vehicle.
The suspected driver was pronounced deceased on scene.
Alcohol, marijuana and failure to wear a seatbelt are suspected factors in the crash.
