Froid Senior Profile
Recent Froid High School graduate Cody Olson has been a standout in the area for FFA during the past several years.
Olson’s accomplishments have included having the grand champion market beef in 2002, taking first place for district livestock evaluation for FFA in 2026 and winning the outstanding achievement award for FFA in 2026.
His other activities have included football, basketball, track, golf, Business Professionals of America and student council.
Team honors for sports have included second place in the state for football in 2023 and fourth place for divisional basketball in 2024.
“My favorite memory in an activity would be when we practiced in the snow during the 2023 football season,” Olson said.
Despite struggling with a few injuries, Olson’s favorite activity was football.
“This is because my love for the game was above the rest and even though I didn’t get to play much my junior and senior years, I still enjoyed helping Coach Reiter from the sideline,” Olson said.
He said his favorite subjects were agriculture class with teacher Shannon O’Brien and industrial arts class with teacher Tracie Smith.
“My favorite teacher is Ms. O’Brien because she helped me the most in getting me ready for college whether that be helping me apply to different colleges as well as scholarships,” Olson said.
He went to go in Froid from kindergarten through his senior year.
“I like the community the best in Froid,” Olson said. “The support of the community has helped me achieve my goals. Everybody knows everyone and has your back no matter what.”
Olson plans to pursue a degree in farm and ranch management at Northwest College in Powell, Wyo.
