Bisbee Releases New Book About Colors
Local author Vicki Bisbee has just released her fourth book. “Assiniboine: Book of Colors” is aimed toward younger children who are interested in learning and enjoying various colors.
The 22-page book features 11 different colors along with illustrations.
“Each one has a story about that color,” Bisbee explained.
She said both Head Starts and Southside Elementary School have expressed interest about the book. The publications can be purchased through Amazon.
Bisbee has been creating books for the past 5-6 years. She said it takes about seven months for the works to be published.
Her previous books were “Assiniboine: Book of Colors,” “Assiniboine: Counting 1-10,” and “Assiniboine: Counting 11-20.”
As a retired school counselor and proud Assiniboine member, Bisbee has opened the door for readers with her books. Bisbee has been involved with education and preservation of Native American languages.
Born and raised on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation, Bisbee attended Montana State University Northern, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business education and a master’s degree in education – guidance and counseling.
