The National Day of Prayer was Thursday, May 7. At LCHS, chapel focused on praying particularly for the seniors who are graduating on Sunday, May 17, at 3 pm. The theme of the National Day of Prayer was “Tell of God’s glory among the nations, His good deeds to all people”. House Speaker Mike Johnson’s address at the National Day of Prayer in our nation’s capitol was well worth hearing and we learned among other things why Congress engraved our national motto, “In God We Trust” above the speaker’s podium, at the height of the Cold War. “According to the visitor’s guide to the House, it was engraved there as a rebuke to the Soviets for their philosophy in Socialism, Marxism that there is no God.’ That’s Not Who we are.” “We are a praying nation”.
