TEB Approves Pay Advances Due To Higher Gas Prices

 

The Fort Peck Tribal Executive Board held their regular, full board meeting May 12.

The board voted to honor Joyce Simons with a Star Quilt and $500 for being a long term employee of the Fort Peck Tribes. A donation was also approved for the family of Maurice “JR” Draszt.

The board voted to grant tribal arrest authority under the Reciprocal Cross Deputization Agreement to the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Deputy Adam Weinberger and Officer Logan Bushman of the Wolf Point Department.

Four names and two alternates were approved for the Fort Peck Inc. Board: Thomas Brown, Sunee Erickson, Faith O’Conner and John Summers, with alternates Valerie Moran and Elaine Boyd.

Unlimited pay advances were approved until new fiscal year, due to the rising gas prices.

The board authorized the submission of an application from the Fort Peck Tribal Courts Department to the Bureau of Justice Assistance under the Fiscal Year 2026 Rural Law Enforcement Violent Crime Reduction Initiative.

The Tribes voted to proceed with the New Markets Tax Credit financing transaction for the completion of the two Early Childhood Education Centers on the Fort Peck Reservation and the engagement of Darryl Jacobs as NMTC tax counsel and Richard Davies of Cohn Reznick as NMTC tax accountant in connection with the transaction, with fees to be paid from closing proceeds, the payment of the required $25,000 deposit associated with the NMTC transaction process.

The Fort Peck Tribal Health Diabetes Programs request to bring in a licensed massage therapist Tyree Dutton to perform 30 minute foot massage to diabetic clients with a set price of $1,500 was approved for 40 available sessions.

TEB is the duly elected body representing the Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes of the Fort Peck Reservation and is empowered to act on behalf of the Tribes. All actions shall be adherent to provisions set forth in the 1960 Constitution and By-Laws.

The next full board meeting is set for May 26.
