Change Of Pleas Hearings Heard In District Court
Two changes of plea were among the hearings in Roosevelt County District Court in front of District Judge Benjamin Fosland on Wednesday, April 15.
Xavier Jamal Christian Alvarado changed his plea to guilty for the o nse of failure to register as a sexual or violent o nder.
He admitted that he was registered as a violent offender in Sheridan County and then resided in Roosevelt County for more than three business days without registering in that county.
A pre-sentencing investigation was ordered by Fosland.
A request was made to lower Alvarado’s bond from $10,000. If released, Alvarado said he would live with his parents in Plentywood and that he has a good chance for employment in that community.
Fosland reduced the bond to $2,500. He noted that the Roosevelt County Sheri #8217;s O_ce has seized all of Alvarado’s firearms.
John Frank Figueroa Jr. changed his plea from guilty to no contest for the misdemeanor o nse of theft.
County attorney Thomas Bleicher said if a trial was held, he would prove that Figueroa removed two bags on Aug. 18, 2025, from the Roosevelt Medical Center in Culbertson without permission. Value of the items was less than $1,500.
