Culbertson’s golf team is enjoying a good turnout this season with 11 total golfers on the squad.

The boys’ team consists of senior Ian Snyder, junior Glen Sager, sophomore Wyatt Martin, sophomore Felixe Becker, eighth grader Noah Martin, eighth grader Dakota Bigler and eighth grader CeJay Flinn. W. Martin qualified for the state meet last season.

The girls’ squad features senior Josie Simonsen, senior Isabella Apple, sophomore Kinley Wallace and eighth grader Brailey Bigler.

Returning letterwinners are Snyder, W. Martin, Apple, Simonsen and Wallace.

“Our boys team is very strong this year with four returning golfers,” Coach Jimie Lou Morris said. “Glen (Sager) and the Martin brothers spent a lot of time on the course this past summer and working on the SIM this winter, so I am looking forward to a good showing from them this season.”

Many of Culbertson’s golfers spent time this summer working with Mike Frye, CHS alum and threetime Class C state golf champion, during day camps and private lessons.

“He gave them a lot of tools, tips and tricks that they are eager to put to use on the course this season,” Morris said.
