Bainville Golf Program Features Five Players
Bainville’s golf team looks for good results with five players this season.
The squad consists of senior Chandi Johnson, junior Lane Giese, sophomore Sadie Romo, sophomore Kyn Beery and freshman Charles Johnston.
Giese and Johnson are returning players from a season ago. Giese qualified for last year’s state tournament.
The Bulldogs will open their season in Malta on Friday, April 10.
The divisional tournament is scheduled for May 11 at the Sidney Country Club.
To automatically advance to state, a boy golfer needs to shoot an 85 or lower and a girl golfer needs to score a 100 or lower. To qualify for the divisional tournament, a boy needs to have a 115 or lower and a girl needs to shoot a 130 or lower. The top 18 golfers at divisional advance to the state meet.
Bainville Coach Dan Lambert hopes the golfers improve throughout the season.
He feels Giese and Johnson have good chances of qualifying for the state tournament. “For the other ones, it depends on how they come around,” Lambert said.
