Lions Take Third Place In Williston
Lustre’s boys took third place and Lustre’s girls placed 12th at the indoor track meet hosted by Scobey and Glasgow in Williston, N.D., on Thursday, April 2.
In the boys’ division, the Lions earned third with 48 points. The top two teams were Glasgow with 67 and Plentywood with 61 points.
Topping the girls’ division were Divide County, N.D., with 59 points, Glasgow with 54 and Richey/Lambert with 53 points. Lustre scored 17 points.
Lustre did extremely well in the boys’ 800 as Prestyn Klatt finished first with a time of 2:11.06, Jaycee Hilkemann took second at 2:12.26 and Chris Traeholt placed third at 2:15.65.
Lustre’s boys’ 1600-meter relay team featuring Klatt, Traeholt, Hadden Olfert and Hilkemann earned first with a time of 3:51.20.
Hilkemann finished second in the 1600 at 4:50.42.
Klatt cleared 5-6 in the high jump for a fourth-place showing. KJ Brown took sixth in the 60-meter dash at 7.79 seconds.
The boys’ 800-meter relay of Jacob Rigby, Joel Reddig, Wheeler Damboise and Cam Reddig finished sixth at 1:47.46.
Taking seventh were Damboise in the javelin and C. Reddig in the long jump.
In the girls’ division, Samantha Neufeld finished third in the 800 with a time of 2:44.65.
Sidney Klatt earned fifth in the 1600 at 6:08.38.
The girls’ 800-meter relay team featuring Lauryn Holzrichter, Klatt, Neufeld and Justice Byers finished third at 2:04.30.
In the 400, Byers placed fifth at 1:09.49 and Neufeld was sixth at 1:09.51.
Klatt took seventh in the 800 at 2:47.89.
