County Plans Growing Strong Families Event
The Roosevelt County Health Department is planning a “Rooted in Love: Growing Strong Families,” activity at Wolf Point’s senior citizen in conjunction with national Growing Strong Families month.
The Roosevelt County commissioners recently approved the event to be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, April 24.
Roosevelt County public health director Jenny Fuller said the day will include planting flowers and making pinwheels among the multi-generational activities.
County officials note that as a remote county that suffers greatly from the health and societal harms related to substance use, mental and behavioral health issues and chronic disease, we understand the importance of creating protective factors for our communities.
By building opportunities to create positive, supportive bonds between community elders and youth populations, we can work with our partners to strengthen Roosevelt County families.
Activities will foster positive parent-child interactions, connect families to local resources and celebrate the importance of strong family relationships.
