Lustre News
It was senior night on Friday, the 13th, after the first game when Nashua came to play on our last week of the regular season. Graduating seniors are Andy Ponce-Curl, son of Laura Curl of Wolf Point, Johnslee Pierre of the Bahamas, Hannah Brown, daughter of Sarah Brown and the late Darin Brown, Diek Olfert, son of Dawson and Alicia Olfert, and Nathan Fast, son of Jerry and Susan Fast of Lustre.
We received word of the passing of Myrna Rauch (Mrs. Harry Rauch) on Feb. 12. Harry was a court recorder in Wolf Point, and Myrna a stay-at-home Mom of four children. They attended the Bethel Wolf Point Church many years, before moving to Lewistown. Harry preceded her in death during covid. Their children are Nicholas, Cassidy, Brody and Dessirly, all grown with families.
District 3C Basketball Tournament was this week, Feb 19-21. The Lustre girls won their first game against Frazer, and lost to Circle on Thursday. On Friday, they won over Nashua to earn their berth in the consolation round against North Country, who lost to Scobey, but beat Frazer. The Lustre boys lost to Circle in their first game 67-55, beat Frazer to earn the right to battle North Country, who lost to Scobey, for third place on Saturday. The pep band sounded good as they played at the boys and girls’ games.
Kencia Brown, Ava Holzrichter, Prestyn Klatt, Gunner Damboise, Harlo Reddig and Sarah Brown were gifted star quilts on Friday evening’s presentation by various students and their families, in honor of their families. The giving of star quilts is a beautiful tradition.
