Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 129 calls from Feb. 9-16.
The calls included the following; Feb. 9
Deputies, Wolf Point Police and the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice responded to a disturbance regarding two males fighting in Wolf Point’s housing. Hudson Steele, 21, was arrested on authority of a warrant and taken to tribal jail.
Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to the Poplar area for a report of an elderly woman being treated badly by her grandsons. One adult male was arrested for domestic elder abuse and another adult male was transported to Poplar’s city limits and dropped off.
Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to Tribal Express in Poplar for a report of an adult male threatening people with a gun. A search was conducted, but law enforcement couldn’t locate the male.
Feb. 10
Deputies looked in Brockton for an adult male wanted for an extradition warrant. The male was located and taken to the Roosevelt County jail.
Feb. 12
Deputies assisted when a vehicle slid off the road and into a ditch at the Poplar airport addition. All three occupants refused medical treatment. No charges were filed.
Feb. 14
Deputies responded to the Bainville area for a report of stolen cooper wire.
Deputies received a report from an adult male in Poplar who said his vehicle was stolen the night before. Deputies are investigating.
Deputies traveled to Sidney to pick up Whitley Adams, 36, Williston, N.D., who was wanted on a warrant.
Feb. 15
Deputies responded to Town Pump where an employee provided video surveillance footage of a theft. Taken were snacks and an energy drink.
Deputies, FPTDLJ, Poplar ambulance, Poplar fire and the Montana Highway Patrol responded to a crash on the roundabout in Poplar. One male was arrested and taken to tribal jail. Several firearms were recovered from the vehicle.
Feb. 16
Deputies pulled over a male for speeding. The male failed sobriety tests and was charged for driving while under the influence of intoxicants.
