Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 137 calls from Feb. 2-9.

The calls included the following: Feb. 2

Deputies assisted the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice at Wolf Point tribal housing for a report of a possible assault. An adult male was arrested by FPTDLJ and taken to tribal jail.

Feb. 3

Deputies were asked to remove two females by a homeowner. Once deputies arrived, the females left on their own.

Feb. 4

Deputies responded to Poplar tribal housing for a report from an adult male saying someone broke a window on his pickup truck.

Deputies assisted a federal probation officer with an arrest warrant for a female in Poplar. The female wasn’t at the residence.

Deputies responded to a Culbertson business for a report from a marijuana dispensary. It was reported that a truck driver walked into the business and was trying to sell his own marijuana to the store. He fled and left the county.

Deputies made contact with an adult male at a casino in the state line area. The male, who is on felony probation in Montana, was playing a gaming machine and drinking an alcoholic beverage. David Herron, 37, Williston, N.D., was placed on a 72-hour probation hold and taken to the Roosevelt County jail. He also had four misdemeanor warrants.

Feb. 5

Deputies received a report from a sister of a possible assault. When contacting the female, she denied any physical argument with her boyfriend.

Deputies assisted four FPTDLJ officers near Town Pump in Wolf Point where a woman was bleeding from her leg and requested medical assistance. A vehicle got high-centered. An adult male ran from officers, but was caught. FPTDLJ arrested the adult male and female. An infant in the vehicle was turned over to grandparents.

While patrolling in Poplar, deputies saw an adult male who has a warrant. Dylan McMillen, 21, was placed under arrest.

Feb. 6

Deputies assisted tribal animal control for a report of animal neglect. Three dogs were fenced in, and one of the dogs died. Two other dogs were in poor condition. A female was interviewed about the animal’s treatment. The two dogs were given to Wolf Point Pound Puppies.

Feb. 7

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ at Fort Peck Video in Poplar regarding a female who was intoxicated and causing a disturbance. The female told officers that she was pregnant. She was taken to the emergency room and created a disturbance with medical staff. Chrissy DeMarrias, 37, was arrested for disorderly conduct and endangering an unborn child. She was taken to tribal jail.

Feb. 8

Deputies responded to the laundromat in Poplar where it was reported that someone backed up into a vehicle and fled the scene.

Feb. 9

A landowner near Culbertson said a surveyor was on his land and was being uncooperative. Deputies responded to the situation.

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s report activity statistics for the past week were: Wolf Point city limits, 23; Wolf Point FPHA five; Poplar city limits, 27; Poplar rural, six; Poplar FPHA Airport Addition, three; Poplar FPHA all other, four; Culbertson town, 25; Culbertson rural, six; Bainville town, five; Bainville rural, 15; Froid town, one; Froid rural, two; Brockton town, seven; Brockton rural, three; Fort Kipp, five; total, 137.
