Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 145 calls from Jan. 12-19.
The calls included the following: Jan. 12
Deputies responded to tribal housing in Poplar for a report of a man being injured after slipping and falling. He was helped into the ambulance.
Jan. 13
Deputies assisted Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice and Wolf Point City Police for a report of two individuals fighting near The Nook. FPTDLJ arrested a male. Acting on a tip from BIA and a tribal drug officer, deputies patrolled the Poplar area and stopped a vehicle. The Montana Highway Patrol assisted with the stop. There were three females and two males in the vehicle. A canine provided an alert. Some drug paraphernalia could be seen in plain view. Four people were arrested. The suspected drugs were sent to the crime lab.
Jan. 14
Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to a location near Tribal Express in Poplar. A caller said a male was hanging out a vehicle’s window and holding a rifle. Two males were arrested by FPTDLJ.
Jan. 15
Deputies received a report of a vehicle being driven recklessly near Culbertson. The vehicle was located and pulled over. An elderly driver explained he was having challenges driving his lightweight vehicle in the strong wind.
Jan. 17
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ in Poplar with a report of a family disturbance. Two males were fighting about a gaming system.
Jan. 18
Deputies responded to a Culbertson business for a report of shoplifting. An adult male stole a bottle of liquor.
Deputies received a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was found between Poplar and Brockton. An individual was arrested and taken to tribal jail.

Poplar FPHA, all other, 13; Culbertson town, 21; Culbertson rural, eight; Bainville town, one; Bainville rural, 11; Brockton town, one; Brockton rural, 11; Froid town, one; Froid rural, one; Fort Kipp, four; total, 145.
