On Dec. 20, the Culbertson/ Bainville/Froid/Lake speech, drama and debate team competed in Forsyth for the final meet of 2025.

It ended up being a smaller meet than anticipated due to the weather (wind and rain) that affected much of the state. The wind damage experienced by communities included downed trees and power lines, and roof damage (with a couple of schools having roofs torn off their buildings), which in turn resulted in no school on Friday and canceled planned weekend travel.

Those in attendance did enjoy a well-run meet, with great judges and comments for the competitors.

Harrison Green placed first in impromptu.

Sam Austin and Vala Gregor earned top honors in classical theater.

Payton Jahns took second and Harper Struna was third in program oral interpretation.

Josie Simonsen placed second in memorized public address. Colt’n Rees took third in memorized public address.

Blake Reed was fifth in Lincoln/ Douglas debate. Trinity Gregor took sixth in humorous solo.

Gavin Raaum was third in mime.

Taking fourth were Jaxon Flinn in informative and Scarlet Mahoney in spontaneous oral interpretation.

Brennen Roseleip placed seventh in humorous oral interpretation.

The team took first in Class C speech and second in Class C drama.

The team will compete in Circle on Saturday, Jan. 10.
