Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 65 calls from Dec. 22-26.

The calls included the following: Dec. 22

Deputies, the Poplar Fire Department and Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice responded to a report of a fire near the cemetery in Poplar. It turned out that a man who lives in a camper was boiling water outside on a jet boil device. He was getting the water hot so he could take a shower.

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ on a domestic abuse call in Poplar. The reporting party said her sister’s boyfriend was beating her sister up and needed to be removed. No arrests were made.

Deputies assisted at the tribal adult jail with a combative female who was just booked into jail. Deputies assisted putting her into a cell.

Dec. 23

Deputies responded to Wolf Point tribal housing for a report of an adult female who had a warrant for her arrest. She was transported to tribal jail.

Deputies responded to the Poplar roller rink where a female skater rolled her ankle badly. Deputies assisted the ambulance crew in taking her to the hospital.

Dec. 24

Deputies responded to TJ’s Quik Stop in Poplar where a male reported that he put his backpack down upon entering the store and then someone else took his backpack, which contained medicine. A name of the suspect was taken. The case is still under investigation.

Deputies assisted the Montana Highway Patrol with a traffic stop in the Wolf Point area. A warning was issued.

Dec. 25

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ when a couple reported a possible restraining order violation. The restraining order, however, only protects the female regarding a male and doesn’t protect her new husband.

Deputies responded to Town Pump where an employee asked to have a female removed from the entrance. The female lifted her fists to deputies. She is on the banned list from the store. Thelma TheBoy, 46, was charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.

An adult female called 9-11 to report that her boyfriend wasn’t breathing. Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to a residence in Poplar. It turned out that the male had been assaulted. He was transported to the Poplar hospital by ambulance.

Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to north Poplar where an adult female reportedly came into a house, knocked down the Christmas tree and was yelling at family members. FPTDLJ arrested the adult female.

Dec. 26

Deputies assisted the Poplar ambulance crew in Brockton where an adult male fell over in the bathroom and wasn’t acting like himself. He was taken to the Poplar hospital’s emergency room.

In addition, the RCSO had the following activity: Wolf Point city, seven; Wolf Point rural, two; Poplar city, 11; Poplar rural, one; Poplar FPHA, all other, 10; Culbertson town, seven; Culbertson rural, eight; Bainville rural, five; Brockton town, eight; Fort Kipp, two; total, 65.
