Bainville Splits Games Against Thunder

The Bainville Bulldogs got off to a good start and downed MonDak, 47-42, in girls’ basketball action on Saturday, Dec. 20. The Bulldogs took a 9-3 lead in the first quarter and then ran off 16 points in the second period for a 25-14 advantage at intermission.
MonDak closed the margin to 41-37 in the third quarter.
Leading Bainville’s attack were Hailey Berwick with 18 and Lila Butikofer with 10 points.
Also scoring were Jodi Albus with nine, Jaylynn Bjorge with six and Addison Hansen with two points.
Top scorers for the Thunder were Abby Lowes with 15 and Evelynn Lowes with 13 points.
In the boys’ game, Bainville lost a tough 49-46 contest against MonDak.
The Thunder held a 21-16 half-time lead and held a 3831 advantage after three quarters.
A free throw by Kaiden Holmes, a basket by Rowan Wilson and a free throw by Charlie Johnston got the Bulldogs within three points with 10 seconds left. The Bulldogs missed a three-point attempt with two seconds left.
Top scorers for Bainville were Parker Berwick with 22 points and Wilson with 17 points.
Rounding out the scoring were Holden Salivar with five, Holmes with four, Evan Anderson with three and Johnston with one.
