Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 133 calls from Dec. 8-15.

The calls included the following: Dec. 9

Deputies were notified of a slide off at mile marker 658 on Highway 2 near Bainville. A semi-truck slide off the road. There wasn’t any damage to the vehicle and no injuries were reported. The Montana Highway Patrol assisted with traffic control.

Another deputy assisted the Montana Highway Patrol at mile marker 664 on Highway 2 for a vehicle that went into a ditch. There were no injuries.

Deputies received a report from the county jail that a female prisoner had a seizure. An ambulance was called and the inmate was transported to the Wolf Point hospital.

Dec. 10

A female called because she believed she received a scam call from someone who said he was from the FBI. Deputies called the number provided and found that the caller was actually an agent from the FBI.

Deputies received a call from tribal court regarding a female who had a tribal warrant. She was arrested and taken to tribal jail.

Deputies responded to the Wolf Point elevator for a fire. Deputies assisted the Wolf Point Fire Department, Wolf Point Police Department, Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice, Montana Highway Patrol and Disaster and Emergency Services with traffic control.

A female reported a theft, a possible purse snatching. Deputies were able to find the missing wallet underneath a seat in her vehicle.

Deputies responded to Brockton for a report from a mother that her daughter was intoxicated and damaging the home. The daughter was transported to her residence in Culbertson.

Dec. 11

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ regarding a disturbance at the Buckhorn Bar in Poplar. An adult male was arrested and taken to the tribal jail.

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ on BIA, Route 1, near Poplar for a report of a disturbance. A male was arrested by FPTDLJ.

Dec. 12

Deputies were called to Highway 2 near Bainville for a report of a large propane truck that slide off the road. There were no injuries reported. There wasn’t any damage to the vehicle.

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ with a report of a domestic disturbance at the Poplar Airport Addition. A female said that a male assaulted her. Extra patrol was provided.

Dec. 13

Deputies responded to the Poplar tribal housing area where an adult male claimed he was pepper sprayed by a family member. The male was having a difficult time breathing. He was transported to the hospital. A brother said he actually did the pepper spraying after he was punched in the nose. Apparently, there was a fight involving several family members. Xavier Walking Eagle, 18, was arrested for partner or family member assault. Two other family members were submitted to tribal prosecutors for partner or family member assault charges.

Dec. 14

Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to a reported fight in progress outside of the Buckhorn Bar in Poplar. James Garcia, 43, was arrested for criminal intent and disorderly conduct.

Dec. 15

Deputies received a report from Poplar regarding a mother saying her daughter was intoxicated. The mother said the daughter was on probation and not supposed to leave the residence. FPTDLJ arrrested Tiona Autumn Brown, 22, for criminal contempt.

In addition, the RCSO had the following activity: Wolf Point city, 18; Wolf Point rural, three; Poplar city, 14; Poplar rural, 10; Poplar FPHA airport addition, three; Poplar FPHA, all other, 14; Culbertson town, 15; Culbertson rural, five; Bainville town, 14; Froid rural, four; any other area, one; Brockton town, 12; Brockton rural, six; Fort Kipp, 14; total, 133.
