The Culbertson Cowgirls feature good experience as they begin their basketball season.

Returning starters for Culbertson include senior Leandra Perkins, senior Ivy Colvin, senior Ayden Ator, junior Payton Labatte and junior Emma Berwick.

Other girls with varsity experience include junior Stella Fox, sophomore Kalia Featherston and junior Bella Peterson.

David Anderson is the team’s new head coach. Jenna Bowker is serving as assistant.

As far as changes to the program being made, Anderson said, “We will work on it one day at a time.”

The Cowgirls have a turnout of 13 players. “Our experience with the upper classmen is a strength,” Anderson said. “We have some underclassmen who are hungry for minutes so that’s a strength as well.”

The coach has been pleased with the girls’ attitudes. The Cowgirls will face Broadus and Harlowton at the Miles City tip-off tournament to begin the season.

“Our goal is simply to get better week by week and see where we end up,” Anderson said.
