Froid/Lake Boys Feature Good Turnout, Returning Starters
With three returning starters, the Froid/Lake boys’ basketball team aims to move up in the conference standings this season.
Back for the Red Hawks are starters Rylan Young, Carsen Kelm and Cody Olson.
In addition, Eddie Orozco, Teegan Fossum and Jake Nordlund have a good amount of varsity experience.
“We have 15 players this year,” Froid/Lake Coach Chase White said. “We brought up six eighth graders that we are excited about. We will have a full JV team.”
The Red Hawks still need to gain experience and learn how to handle defensive pressure better.
“Strengths would be we are going to compete. We don’t quit and we can shoot,” White said. “We are coachable and we will hustle.”
The coach said the Red Hawks need to take it one game at a time. “I’m just excited to coach this group and see where we are at the end of the season,” White said. “I’d put us in the middle of the pack right now in the district.”
Pre-season favorites in the league include Brockton and Bainville.
“MonDak has some young kids that are growing up,” White added. “As always it’s going to be a tough district, but we’re growing up too and excited just to take it one game at a time.”
