Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 64 calls from Nov. 17-21.
The calls included the following: Nov. 17
Deputies responded to Poplar’s tribal housing for a report of a female assaulting another female. They were fighting over some property. Hailey Longtree, 23, was arrested on authority of a warrant and taken to tribal jail.
Deputies responded to Tribal Express in Poplar where a reporting party said that an individual tried to run him over with a vehicle. Deputies patrolled the area in an attempt to find the vehicle.
Deputies and the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice received a complaint of a vehicle being driven erratically on U.S. Highway 2. The driver passed sobriety tests.
Nov. 18
Four deputies and two FPTDLJ officers responded to a reported vehicle crash on BIA Route 1 near Fort Kipp. Two individuals were in the vehicle. Medical assistance was not needed. The Montana Highway Patrol was called to the scene.
Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash within Culbertson’s city limits. Culbertson ambulance and fire also responded. No individuals were taken to the hospital.
Nov. 19
A male representing a local business reported fraud. Deputies are in the early stages of investigating the case.
Deputies were called to Fort Kipp where a female needed to be removed from a residence.
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ at the Poplar hospital where a male was described as very combative. After getting medically cleared, the male was taken by FPTDLJ to tribal jail.
Nov. 20
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ on a report of two males fighting in front of Tande Grocery in Poplar.
Deputies responded to the Legion Bar in Poplar where a male was passed out in the entry way. After talking with a deputy, the male walked home.
