Wolf Point Loses Contest In Glasgow, 64-0


The Wolf Point Wolves fell behind by a 32-0 margin in the first quarter and lost at Glasgow, 64-0, in league football action on Friday, Oct. 3.
Glasgow scored on its first possession when senior Wyatt Sugg got in from two yards out. He also ran in the conversion for an 8-0 margin with 7:35 left in the opening quarter.
After the Scotties forced Wolf Point into punting formation, Khye Gamas returned the kick 37 yards to the Wolves’ 13. On an option play, Sugg raced into the end zone. Sugg got in for the conversion to put the margin at 16-0.
A short time later, Glasgow blocked a punt and took over at the Wolf Point 44. After a pass from Gamas to Cade Hudyma put the ball at the 13, Sugg scored again for the Scotties. A conversion throw from Gamas to Hudyma increased the gap to 24-0.
Glasgow then recovered a fumble on the kickoff and reached the end zone on a 19yard completion from Gamas to Grady Nielsen.
Near the end of the first quarter, the Wolves were able to get their running game going a bit on nice gains by Jesse Reed and Kasey Reed. The Wolves advanced as far as the 40 before having to punt the ball back.
Glasgow’s first touchdown of the second period came on a 28-yard run by Sugg to put the score at 40-0.
A highlight for the Wolves was an interception by Tavian Bell near the end zone to stop one of Glasgow’s threats.
The Scotties made a tackle in the end zone on Wolf Point’s next possession for a 42-0 margin with 2:05 left in the half.
Glasgow’s two touchdowns of the third quarter came on a two-yard run by Gamas and a 17-yard dash by Cash Stulc.
The Scotties added a touchdown in the fourth quarter on a nine-yard run by Stulc.
Running plays by J. Reed and Tanner MacDonald led the Wolves into Glasgow territory in the game’s final minutes. The threat, however, ended with an interception.
The Wolves will travel to Cut Bank on Friday, Oct. 10.
