Job Description Being Developed For Fair Manager
During the county commissioners’ meeting held on Tuesday, Sept. 30, Commissioner Robert Toavs reported that the county fair board is developing a job description in order to hire a new fair manager.
Former county fair manager Angela Miller resigned on the last day of this year’s fair. She had been manager of the Roosevelt County Fair since 2012. Roosevelt County commissioners officially accepted the resignation during their meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 19.
Also during the recent commissioners’ meeting, commissioners approved a quote of $2,400 for pest control to be conducted by Advanced Solutions of Wolf Point.
The buildings that Advanced Solutions will service include road shops in Wolf Point, McCabe, Poplar and Bainville, libraries and aging centers. The quote is for servicing buildings quarterly by inspecting, spraying, baiting and other pest control actions.
Commissioners announced that they will be advertising for bids for gravel in the north of Brockton and east of Froid areas. Bids will be opened on Oct. 28.
Commissioners Gordon Oelkers’ request to attend Gov. Gianforte’s economic summit for the energy future in Bozeman on Oct. 16.
During commissioners’ updates, commissioners Doug Marottek and Toavs each attended reservation county meetings during the Montana Association of Counties’ annual meeting. Oelkers also attended several meetings during the conference.
Toavs congratulated Oelkers of being elected the new president of MACo.
Oelkers mentioned that Toavs’ reading of cowboy poetry was well received at the convention.
