Greetings from Roosevelt County Aging Services! We would like to remind Medicare beneficiaries that open enrollment for Medicare Part D (prescription drug coverage) starts Oct. 15, and runs through Dec. 7.

During Medicare Part D open enrollment, you have the opportunity to review and compare the plans that are available in Montana and can choose to enroll in a new plan. Medicare Part D plans are allowed to change their coverage every year, so it is important that you take the time to review any coverage information your Part D insurer has sent you this fall. This will ensure your plan’s coverage will still meet your needs in 2026. Each Part D plan has a monthly premium, preferred or standard pharmacies, a formulary (list of covered drugs), a deductible, and a tier system (cost-sharing) which affect its overall yearly cost. By using the comparison tool through the Medicare Plan Finder, you can see in which plans your drugs are covered and what your estimated yearly costs will be (for each plan) in 2026.

If you would like assistance with the Medicare Plan Finder and reviewing your plan’s materials, we are happy to help you review and compare your current plan. If you choose to change plans, we can assist you with enrolling in a new plan. Please be aware that not every plan is available every year. Please remember to open any mail you get from your plan.

Please call us Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM at 406-653-6221 to schedule an appointment, in Wolf Point or Culbertson, with Julie Bach or Alyssa Toavs. You can also compare this information yourself by going online to www.medicare. gov/plan-compare, or by calling 1-800-MEDICARE (1800-633-4227).
