Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 161 calls during Sept. 15-22.
The calls included the following: Sept. 15
Deputies responded to TJ’s Quik Stop in Poplar for a fight between two females. One female was laying in the intersection. She was transported to the hospital. The Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice and ambulance service assisted.
Deputies took a report of theft when a female came to the sheriff’s office and said a male stole her debit card and used it.
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ and the Wolf Point Police Department at Fox Ford on a report that two individuals were stealing gas from the property. A male was detained at taser point. A female was stopped and arrested by FPTDLJ.
Sept. 16
Deputies responded to U.S. Highway 2 at mile marker 609 after BNSF reported trespassing on a train car. The suspect couldn’t be located. A black bag with a sprayer was found on top of one of the train cars.
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ and the Wolf Point Police Department with the report of a fight between two males at the gazebo at Sherman Park. One male was injured, but he didn’t want to press charges.
Deputies received a report of a missing adult male from the Brockton area. The male was entered in the missing persons database.
Sept. 17
Deputies responded to Fort Kipp for a report of an adult male being assaulted. He had a cut on his arm and needed an ambulance.
Deputies assisted the Wolf Point Police Department at tribal housing for a report of a female being assaulted. The female was given a victim rights’ packet. Shanon Big Leggins Jr. 34, was arrested for partner/ family member assault.
Sept. 18
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ and the Wolf Point Police Department in the arrest of Matt Gustafson, 39, on authority of a warrant.
Sept. 19
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ, Poplar ambulance and the Montana Highway Patrol at a rollover crash north of U.S. Highway 2 on Montana Highway 251. There were three occupants in the vehicle. They were transported to the hospital for injuries.
Sept. 21
Deputies responded to the Poplar city limits at 1:30 a.m. for a report from an adult female that a male had a knife and was running around outside.
Deputies received a complaint from the Culbertson area for identity theft/bank fraud.
