Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 128 calls during Sept. 8-15.
The calls included the following: Sept. 8
Deputies assisted the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice at Fort Peck tribal housing’s airport addition in Poplar for a report of suspected domestic violence between a male and female. A male then took off in another vehicle. Deputies responded to the Legion Bar in Poplar where an employee found a large quantity of needles and other drug paraphernalia in a bag. Deputies collected the bag. The suspect is unknown.
Deputies issued a citation to an adult female for public urination.
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ in Fort Kipp to serve a federal warrant on Marshall Buck Elk, 23.
Sept. 10
Deputies responded to Gracie’s Bar in Bainville for a domestic/family disturbance. A woman reported that she had a restraining order on a male. Later, the woman’s vehicle window was smashed. The male couldn’t be located.
Deputies responded to near the state line for a report of theft. A suspect took cooper wire from an oilfield site. The case is still open.
Sept. 11
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ with a search warrant of a residence in Wolf Point. A person was arrested and taken to tribal jail.
Sept. 12
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ at the Corner Bar in Poplar with a report of an assault. Two males were trying to fight another male.
Deputies returned to the Corner Bar for a follow up investigation. A witness was interviewed. FPTDLJ arrested the witness on authority of a warrant.
Deputies received a call from the Great Falls Police Department regarding a rumor that an abandoned body could be found in a farm house on U.S. Highway 2. No body was discovered during the search.
Deputies responded to TJ’s Quik Stop in Poplar regarding a female causing a disturbance. Deputies told the female to leave the location.
Sept. 13
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ and the Wolf Point Police Department at a disturbance in tribal housing in Wolf Point. Two adult females were fighting. One of the females was cited by FPTDLJ.
Sept. 14
Deputies, a tribal investigator and ambulance service responded to Brockton tribal housing because a male wasn’t seen for awhile. He was dealing with health issues. He was found deceased at his residence.
Sept. 15
Deputies responded to Fort Kipp where a female said her sister and niece hit her and took her vehicle. The vehicle was found at another residence.
